About Us

OUR MISSION: We are a team of therapists servicing primarily children in foster care. We have contracts with multiple General Residential Operations (GRO) and Child Placement Agencies (CPA) who care for children in DFPS custody. We provide services at the facilities and in foster homes. We are committed to helping our clients develop the tools that they will need to be successful as adults.

Meet The Team

Alimatu Sadia Nuhu, M.S., LPC

Therapist

Sadia is a licensed professional counselor with a wealth of experience. She holds a Master of Science in Counseling, and a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences both from Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi. Sadia has worked with several mental health agencies, including Bayview Behavioral Hospital, Corpus Christi Metro Ministries, Behavioral Health Services of Nueces County, and The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD. She currently serves as treatment director at a residential treatment center as well as providing needed counseling services to children in crisis.

Amber Jackson-Bogan, M.A, LPC

Therapist

Amber graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Dillard University and Master’s Degree in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University. She has extensive experience working in mental health with the Harris Center, where she provided intense skills-training and case management while helping adult clients with severe mental health problems. Since becoming an LPC-I, she has worked with children in residential care, helping her clients solve problems using Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy.

Anne Haffner, MA, LPC-S

Therapist

My name is Anne Haffner. I am a life long Houstonian. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from University of Houston and a Master of Arts in Psychology from University of Houston Clear Lake. I am also available to provide LPC-I supervision to eligible candidates. I have been in the helping field for 30 years. As a Licensed Professional Counselor- Supervisor, I endorse listening, teaching and providing services to improve the quality of life for individuals, family, significant others and or natural support systems. Your situation is unique to you however you are not alone. Many individuals have experiences with common themes. I bring experience and skills to assist in normalizing situations, understanding and setting goals, and making changes. I believe that we all strive to have a sense of connectedness; wanting to have a feeling of belonging to a person or group. It's about partnering, trust and connectedness. Christopher Moses, M.Ed., LPC, LCDC

Therapist

Christopher Moses is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. He graduated from the State University of New York – Empire State College with a Bachelor of Science in Human Services Management and received a Master of Education from the University of Houston – Victoria. He began his therapeutic career working as an intern at several residential treatment centers in and around the Houston area. While working at DePelchin Children Center, he developed his skill working along with several experienced therapists using Solution-Focused Therapy. He then began using Trauma-Focused, Cognitive Behavior Therapy while working as an LPHA at MHMRA of Harris County. While at The Harris Center (formerly MHMRA of Harris County), he served as Clinical Team Leader with the ACT team that provided wrap around serves for adult patients suffering from mental illnesses while also involved in the Harris County legal system. In addition, he has worked for several years with foster and adoptive families helping them to adjust and develop positive coping skills. He has been able to help clients in the following areas: Goal setting, Changing one’s outlook or general paradigm, Decision-Making, Anger Management, Anxiety, Depression and Mood Disorders, Grief, Adjustment Disorders, Parenting Strategies, Child/adolescent behavior problems, Substance Use and Abuse.

Courtney Prudhomme, LPC

Therapist

My name is Courtney Prudhomme, LPC. I am a licensed therapist in Texas. I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2013 with a bachelor’s in psychology and received my master’s in counseling psychology in 2016 from Houston Baptist University. I have experience working in community mental health, private practice, and jail settings. My treatment approach depends on each individuals' need but ranges from structured to unstructured therapy and includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. I have experience working with adolescents, teens, and adults.

Daleshia Hulett, M.A., LPC, LCDC, CSC

Therapist

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and a Certified School Counselor in the state of Texas. I am a proud graduate with a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University. I have a total of 10 plus year working in mental health, also an extensive amount of experience working with sex offenders, probation, and parolees. My theoretical foundation is Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Anger Management, Grief, Family Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. My goal is to inspire people, I want someone to look at me and say, “Because of you I didn’t give up”.

Keisha Lewis, M.A., LPC

Therapist

Keisha is a licensed professional counselor with experience working with adults, teens and children. She holds a Master of Arts in counseling from Houston Baptist University and a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Prairie View A & M University. She has worked with several mental health agencies, including The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD, and Harris County Juvenile Probation. Currently, she works with youth who have a history of trauma and are placed in residential care. She is a caring professional who meets her clients where they are. She is able to help them make meaningful changes so that they can transition to a less restrictive environment.

Mercy Ezeh, M.A., LPC

Therapist

Mercy is a licensed professional counselor with 18 years of experience working as a therapist. She has worked for the Star of Hope as a program / intake coordinator, and as a therapist and clinical team leader for The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD. The vast majority of her experience has been dedicated to working with children and adolescence. She holds a Master of Arts with a Major in Psychology from Texas Southern University, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin. She is a dedicated professional who works to help her clients improve their lives by empowering them to retain positive control and achieve optimal well-being. Currently, she works with youth who have a history of trauma, depression and anxiety that are placed in residential care. In addition, she also works to help agencies maintain compliance. She has a strong passion for assisting children to overcome their core wounds as a result of trauma. Each child is unique and gifted and helping them reach their potential is paramount to her service.
